Gray Market

The gray market simply refers to unauthorized sellers selling new watches but do not have an official dealing relationship with the brand. Thus, these watches are usually genuine products sold outside the duly authorized network of the brand, sometimes cheaper. In many ways, the gray market watch is markedly inferior to an official purchase, for it will not enjoy the warranty and support that an official purchase guarantees because it is sold through unofficial sales channels.

For a buyer, however, gray market models allow one to get their desired model at reduced prices, but very much with a warning to do one's own homework on the seller first and to weigh out the cut in the price of having no official support from the brand.
